About our Chapter

Currently the Canaan Parish Chapter has over 200 members providing hands-on volunteer service for 25 local philanthropic organizations and contributes over 3,500 hours to our community each year. We also participate in NCL’s Annual National Philanthropy Initiative (Service from the Heart) which focuses on supporting military personnel and their families.

In addition, members are required to take part in a range of League activities which foster leadership skills and provide educational and cultural experiences.

We hold a Philanthropy Fair each fall, which highlights the mission of our philanthropy organizations along with the ways in which NCL volunteers help. We also celebrate our accomplishments at an Annual Cookie Exchange where each Ticktocker class presents their Holiday Project for their designated philanthropy.  The Cookie Exchange also has a philanthropic component by providing cookies to first responders (Police, Fire, EMS) and donating requested items to our local philanthropies. Our Chapter Tea is held in February and offers our members the chance to experience and reinforce the art of etiquette through cultural experiences, the art of civility and respect, and the importance of giving back to the community. Our Awards Ceremony in the spring recognizes the graduating senior Ticktocker class as well as other members who have excelled in our mission.
